ABOUT US

Welcome to the SJC Americans website. We are a local, grass roots group that has emerged  through a shared concern by many residents about the tough issues facing our town, including the impacts of illegal immigration, runaway spending by our city, growing government, embracing social engineering projects such as affordable housing, etc. We are going into our fourth year of service. We are now collaborating with another group of concerned citizens and are  publishing "Capistrano Common Sense'. This monthly newsletter will be bringing a grass roots, conservative perspective to these critical issues. We are also online at www.ccsense.com.

The gradual, but relentless, increase of overcrowding, crime, gang activity, overparking, graffiti, and general blight of our downtown district and surrounding neighborhoods has become so obvious that many citizens are now deciding to stand up and speak out against it. Our elected leaders and our employed City Staff have been very reluctant (even resistant) to deal with these issues. So, it has come to the point where we, the people, must get directly involved.

It is said that real change only comes from the bottom up, and we can tell you that this is certainly true in this case. Our group is actively involved with our city leaders nowadays (not that they like it very much) and we have gotten them moving on some important items already but we have much, much, more to accomplish so we hope you will take another  step and stand up with us.

This is really about the "Rule of Law". This is what our nation was founded upon and our belief is that everybody should be respecting and obeying the same laws. In regards to the immigration issue this means we should be enforcing the laws that we already have from the Federal level down to our local level. This is the core value that we SJC Americans share.

At this time in our city there is too much of "Not my problem... Somebody else is supposed to take care of this... It's a Federal issue." The truth, of course, is that it is everybody's problem. Most of our leaders, local on up, just do not have the political will to face this so it has come to the point where we citizens have to do the "heavy lifting." We have to stop being a Sanctuary to those who are not supposed to be here. Those who are undocumented. Those who are unauthorized. Those who are illegally in this country.

 We have had articles and news pieces done about us, from the local level up to the national level. While there are inaccuracies and misquotes the pieces all  give us lots of power  as they say we are on the rise and gaining strength.
